Activities For a Platform Swing

The weather is amazing here and we have been playing outside.  Last summer Adeline's grandpa built her this great platform swing and we have been doing many different activities on it.

First - Puzzles, both sitting on the tummy.  The whole time the swing is moving gently to challenge her balance and work the core strength.

Being on her tummy works on upper body strength.

Second - Adding rings to stacker both sitting and on the tummy.

Third -  Adding pegs to a pegboard.  I had to hold this in front of her but it worked great.

Fourth - Reading flashcards.

Fifth - popping bubbles.  I do not have a picture of Adeline popping bubble but this is also fun to do.

  1. I especially love the platform swing ideas and photos because as an OT i always teach about how to integrate movement into learning activities. I do hippotherapy so my clients are ALWAYS moving, thanks for sharingyour daughter's development :-)

  6. I love that platform swing! It reminds me that I want to try and make one - I would like mine to be hung inside - as we are in the midst of winter in Maine at the moment! Happy to have found your blog through Embrace Your Chaos!

  8. Howdy exceptional website! Does running a blog such as this require a massive
amount work? I have no expertise in computer programming
however I had been hoping to start my own blog soon.
Anyhow, if you have any ideas or techniques for new blog
owners please share. I know this is off topic but I simply needed to
    ask. Thank you!
