Gross Motor Balloons

I have had this idea in my head for awhile and today I remembered to purchase some balloons.  I hung a bunch of balloons from our deck and we played "bang" and "hit the balloon"  Balloons are one of the best teaching tools.  So many concepts and words can be taught with balloons.  Adeline loved banging the balloons with her hands, and a pool noodle worked great too.  This was great gross motor and speech activity.

Sorry the lighting was not great.

  1. What a great activity! Evidence shows they had a blast! Adeline is a beautiful name (and a beautiful girl!). My daughter's name is Adelle! Come on over and check out what we've been up to (if you have time). Thanks for sharing!

  2. I love how you used the swimming noodle to bang them! I'll definitely be using that idea! Balloons are awesome--my kids like to lay on them! Thanks for sharing at Teach Me Tuesday!

  3. I just had to tell you that I LOVE your blog!!! I found it last night through a mutual "follower" and I have spent so much time (probably too much time) looking through it! My daughter just turned two and I have been looking for these kinds of ideas for teaching her. Where do you get your ideas? Are there other websites that you can recommend or books?
