I love to use things around my house to help my kids learn. For this project I used a priority mail box that something was sent to me in. I cut a little slit and a circle hole to fit my yogurt cup. I found these colored popsicle sticks at the Dollar Tree.
In go the sticks
When we had enough of putting in we sorted out the sticks. Blue in one bowl red in the other. This was not a prefect task I did have to do some hand over hand with Adeline for a bit.
I love the sorting color idea! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteLove love love your blog!! How old was she in this post? I'm wondering if it's too soon to try this with Lily (she's 12 months). I haven't done any hand over hand with her. Is there a special technique or you just literally put your hand over hers and manipulate her hand to do the activity?
ReplyDeleteHi Michelle, So happy you found us. Adeline is around two in this post. Not sure if your Lily has a diagnosis or is a typically dveloping child. I think that you could start "putting in" either way. Yes, as far as hand over hand just put you hand on top of hers and talk her through what you are doing. Such as "blue stick in". Please feel free to let me know if you have any other questions.
