Finger Fun

 Today we painted with pudding!  OHHHH so much fun.  I was a little lazy and had some pudding cups left from when Adeline had her tonsils out, so we spread it on the table and added some color.  At first Adeline was upset because we weren't eating it but then she caught on.

Adeline thought it was a lot of fun and then she tasted it!

 And Ian, he just had to put his head in it!

 

 This was fun and a bit messy.

Tot School- Counting and Fine Motor

Today I made some number matching cards for Adeline.  I just used some file folders that I cut up, and by hand wrote the numbers and colored some dots.  I did then laminate them.  Very easy.  I was not sure what Adeline would think of these but she liked them.  We have been doing the math program with the Brillkids program so she has seen the numbers before.

     Stickers are a fun fine motor activity.  I found a pack of cat stickers, I knew Adeline would love these.  I did have to lift the corner a bit on each of her, but she pulled them off and put them on.  

Adeline has always hated blocks.  Really hated them,so I decided it was not worth the fight and we didn't do them.   Well today I decided to pull them back out and see.  Well she liked them!  She made a tower out of five blocks  and we did choo choo trains.  Wow!  This was something new. 

     Since we didn't take a nap today, for some reason.  We pulled out our shape puzzle from Melissa and Doug and played with this for awhile.

     A few months ago, we found this huge bean bag chair that even has a foot pillow.  I love to pile this up for Adeline to climb on.  This is a great gross motor activity.

   

Exploring Nature -- Fine Motor Skill Task 3

      We went outside today to pick some of our favorite things in the backyard.  Ian's bucket looked so pretty with all the different colors!

     I love clear contact paper!  There are so many differnet little projects you can do with it.  We took all of our picks and made a nature stained glass window type thing.

 Adeline used grass.  We talked about "green" and "grass" and "sticky".

 Once everything is on, cut a top sheet and stick it on.  A rolling pin works great to help press everything together.

Fine Motor Task 2 --- Clothes Pins and Pre-stringing Beads

      It was a nice morning so we hit the deck for some fun activities!  I thought we would first try to work with clothes pins.  This was hard!!!  I think we need to work on finger strength maybe with play dough or something.  Adeline could not squeeze that clothes pin to get it off the bucket.  She was able to figure out how to wiggle it off after a little work.  That was good.  Right?   We will have to come back to this one again later.

Next had seen on another blog how a mom took these pool noodles and cut them up into about 3 inch pieces to make large beads.  You can even put numbers on them or do patterning.  I just wanted to get them on the tinker toy!  You could use a dowel for this also but I had some tinker toys that I put a little base on.  Adeline then tried to put the beads on the stick.  She really liked this task.  It was a little challenging but not so hard.

We also tried to put the noodles pieces on a string.  This was a little to hard.  We will keep working on this.  It would be fun to make a snake!
