12 Of Our Best Gross Motor Activities

For all children gross motor activities are important but even more so for children with Down syndrome.  Children with Down syndrome are usually born with very low muscle tone which means they have to work extra hard to work up those muscles.

I try to daily do some gross motor activity with Adeline.  Here are a few of our favorites.

Stepping Up

Walking The Plank

DIY Therapy Equipment

Our Favorite Gross Motor Toys

Three Ways To Sort Colors

Gross motor activities can be fun and beneficial for your child.  What are some of your favorite?

  1. I love your list of ideas, it's awesome!! your daughter is just precious. I noticed you linked this to Tot School, but didn't mention Tot School in your post or link to it. Did you link this up by mistake? Either way, it is an awesome post and I would love to have you link to Tot School. Can you add in a link back to Tot School to make surfing around easier for other moms gathering ideas? Thanks so much! ;-)
