It is summer and we have been having a lot of fun putting together some fun sensory activities. I have seen many great blogs using pasta for a sensory tub so I thought it would make some fun grass for our bugs.
Today we played with bugs in the grass. We used spoons and prongs for awhile but Adeline had more fun using her hands and putting it into a bucket of water.
Lots of vocabulary with this projects. We talked about bugs, butterflies, grass, frogs and sticky. We had a great time.

This looks like such fun! My guy would love the texture of the noodles!
ReplyDeleteI love it! What a great item to use as grass. She looks like she had so much fun with the bugs! My daughter loves playing in spaghetti! Visiting from The Sunday Showcase.
ReplyDeletewhat fun! it looks quite real. she looks quite intrigued, too. thanks for linking up to tuesday.
ReplyDeleteHi! Stopping by to let you know that I featured your bugs in the grass at the Sunday Showcase (there are 5 new co-hosts!)! Hope to see you again this week! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great activity ... fun and an awesome practical life and sensory experience! Thanks for linking up with Montessori Monday. I featured your post at the Living Montessori Now Facebook page and added it to my Montessori-Inspired Insect Unit at http://livingmontessorinow.com/2011/06/23/montessori-inspired-insect-unit-for-summer-learning-and-fun/
ReplyDeleteWe also tried a spaghetti sensory play this weekend and goblin was totally disinterested. He treated the pasta as if it was inconvenient packaging and carefully removed all the plastic animals. I guess you win some, you lose some. Looks like Adeline had fun though.
ReplyDeleteWe did this a couple of months ago! Vada LOVED it and our whole neighborhood was intrigued!
