Stick and Throw!

I love using our crib mattress for different activities, it has been one of the best gross motor tools around our house.  We walk on it, jump on it, crawl over it, and it just wipes clean.

Today we did some "sticking" on it.  I had these cute baby animal stickers that helped work Adeline's little fingers.  Stickers are a great fine motor activity.  I had Adeline sit on her yoga cow and "stick the cat", 'stick the cow",  and "stick the pig".  The great thing is stickers can be peeled right off a crib mattress.

After doing some sticking we set up our cardboard blocks and  threw some bean bags at them.  This was a great exercise for Adeline, I never saw her throw that far.  I was very motivating.  We have been working on action words so we would say "throw" and "crash".  This was fun!

  4. I like how she was involved in creating the game by initially hanging the stickers. This makes it more motivating for children.

  5. Adding stickers to my Dollar Tree shopping list. It never dawned on me they were good for fine motor. This is why I love, love, love your blog and I'm always swiping your great ideas!
