Who Are The People In Your Family?

We are working on speech and vocabulary so I made a family matching game for Adeline.  Using Picasa I was able to make this grid and cards.  First we pointed to each person, talking about "where is ______?  Adeline was really excited seeing us in this game.  After pointing we matched each picture.

When we are finished with this activity I think I will put the pictures in a book with the proper label.

  1. What a cute idea! I want to make Miss K a book with the people in her family ... "This is my mom ... This is my dad" type of book that even our 5 year old could read to her. I love the matching component and could see making the book with the velcro matches much like you did with the board books (which I also plan to do ... I even bought the same board books for Miss K for Christmas to make into matching books).

  3. I love the idea of people matching. We have an album i made when Goblin was very small which has a page for each family member, but I like teh idea of doing activities as well.

  4. NIce idea, we did a similar one for Luna (our baby with down sindrome), using the See & Learn programme (http://www.seeandlearn.org/en/gb/language-reading/), in the cards they're useing there is the space to add mom and dad, and the activities are of pointing and matching and (eventually) saying or signing the name...
