Finger Paint Fun! Sensory Task 1

Today I though it would be fun to stick our hands in something gooey.  I used a recipe for homemade finger paint, just in case it went into the mouth.  Ours did.

Here is the recipe:
     2 cups flour
     2 teaspoons salt
     2 1/2  cups cold water
     2 cups boiling water
     food coloring

Mix the 2 cups flour and salt.  Add the 2 1/2 cups of cold water until smooth.  Gradually add this mixture to the 2 cups of boiling water and cook until smooth and thick.

I let the goop cool and then put a scoop in each part of a muffin tin so that we could make many colors.

Adeline is testing out this stuff.

Ian had a great time making a mess!!

Now, Adeline thought it would be more fun to mix and stir the paints together.  This was her highlight!

Time to clean up in the water table.

Our water table has been one of the best places for Adeline to practice her standing.  This was the first place she ever stood.  We use to put a chair by it so she could play, and one day there she was standing by the table.  Very motivating

  1. I have so been wanting to try the finger paint activity. I bought the finger paint and apron, but my OCD has been causing me some serious procrastination ;-)
